The Hereford is the original English beef animal producing excellent quality beef from grass based extensive farming systems. The Hereford has a calm temperament making them an easy animal to handle and also an animal that is not easily stressed - ideal for producing great succulent meat.

The parkland surrounding the Hall provides the Tedsmore Hereford herd with the perfect grassland base that the breed thrives on. The animals are kept for the optimum period of between 18 months and 2 years and are then hung for around 21 days - the optimum period for great tasting beef. Adding to this the increased importance of food traceability and knowing where your food is coming from, Tedsmore beef has to be worth a try!

WHEN IS BEEF AVAILABLE?

Tedsmore beef will be available from September 2008 and will generally be available from August/September through to the following Spring. This is because at the moment we have a Spring calving herd which means that this is when the cattle reach 18 months - 2 years of age. The best way to order your beef is by the box and ordering early will mean that we are more likely to be able to deliver the beef fresh. We will only kill an animal when we have sufficient orders.

FRESH OR FROZEN

We will, as stated above, generally kill animals when we have sufficient orders. If you have placed an order with us, your order will then be delivered fresh. It may also be that your order will coincide with us having fresh product. Alternatively, we will probably always have a stock of frozen product.
